churches and carnivals

As time ticks away and the countdown continues I once again visit that city that is to be my home, to look for a church. A morning of worshipping with good music inspired by gospel and jazz sounds, flowing into a BBQ with good conversation and the same gospel and jazz commenced, as the search took an exciting turn. A turn into conversation with some new found friends: Goldsmiths college students, come tour guides, who scurried through the crowds in nottinghill carnival guiding us to where the pulse of african music filled our chests, bright colours of flowing costumes juxtaposed the concrete of the surrounding buildings, causing our every bone to dance. Richard, I'm sorry, there was plenty of culture but I couldn't test tube it for you. There was just too much. Both in the church and at the carnival. But that joy that also can't be test tubed both at the vulnerability of new friendships, sharing with you last week and the excitement of God's new gifts, well, I give it back to the Source.

Very good to read your new blog site, Bec. Are you going to comment on Colombia? How did you enjoy Guildford last week? If you can find "Searching for the Source" by Neil Anderson (Wycliffe Bible Translator here in PNG) you may find added perspective to your site title.
Lots of love A Nicki & U Michael

Hey! Thanks for the comment! Yes, a blog on Colombia should be coming along at some point. It may take some time in writing due to the vast nature of the experience! Im hoping Richard will show me how to post pictures up too pretty soon. It was great to spend some time with Rich in Guilford last week. We did alot of talking, watching the olympics and not much sleeping! How are you? Hope things are well. The book sounds interesting! I will be writing a blog on my choice of title etc soon too! Lots of love.
